Imperial College Health Partners (ICHP) has appointed three Non-Executive Directors. Dr Mark Davies, Chief Health Officer for IBM, Professor Joann Rhodes, Chief Executive of the Health Innovation Research Alliance Northern Ireland (HIRANI), and Sutha Satkunarajah, Vice President, Strategy and Operations at Flagship Pioneering UK, will take up their roles on 1 July 2026.
The appointment follows a competitive recruitment process which saw more than 100 expressions of interest and over 80 applications.
The three Non-Executive Directors join the organisation at an exciting time at the start of a new three-year strategy, bringing their experience and expertise to help recognise ICHP’s vision of a healthy and productive population with equitable access to innovative health and care services.

Dr Mark Davies
Mark joined IBM as Chief Health Officer initially for Europe, Middle East and Africa in 2018 and took up the global role in 2022. He has over 20 years’ experience as an NHS General Practitioner. He has a long-standing interest in informatics, health policy and system re-design and this has led him to work nationally for 15 years in a number of clinical leadership roles at the Department of Health, Cabinet Office and as executive medical director of NHS Digital.
Professor Joann Rhodes
As Chief Executive of HIRANI, Joann provides support to accelerate collaborative health research and innovation from the lab-clinic-patient-home. She connects knowledge with opportunities to drive health and prosperity for the citizens of Northern Ireland, the health services and the wider, global health and life sciences economy. Joann holds advisory positions at TopMD, Discovery Park, and the British Pharmacological Society. She is also an Honorary Professor of Practice at Queen’s University Belfast and an Honorary Visiting Professor at Ulster University.
Sutha Satkunarajah
Sutha Satkunarajah is Vice President, Strategy and Operations at Flagship Pioneering UK, the UK office of the $14bn life sciences venture creation firm behind Moderna, Generate Biomedicines and more than 100 platform companies. As one of Flagship’s first hires outside the US, Sutha has helped build the London hub – Flagship’s first base in Europe – driving its UK ecosystem partnerships. These include Flagship’s global R&D collaboration with Cambridge University Health Partners, Wellcome Sanger Institute and the Milner Therapeutics Institute, its strategic partnership and co-location with the Francis Crick Institute, and emerging links with the UK’s regulatory and translational research infrastructure.
