New CEO announced for Imperial College Health Partners

Dr Dominique Allwood has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of Imperial College Health Partners following a competitive process.

Dominique joins ICHP – the health innovation network for North West London – from her role as Chief Medical Officer and former Deputy at neighbouring UCLPartners.

Her appointment follows an organisational restructure commenced earlier this year, with ICHP’s Board confirming a new CEO role with senior clinical leadership and medical director experience. Dominique will formally take over from current CEO, Dr Axel Heitmueller, in February 2025.

Dominique is a Consultant in Public Health Medicine and will retain her part-time role as Director of Population Health at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. Dominique has worked in clinical leadership, management, advisory and delivery roles for the past 20 years, driving change across health and care. She has expertise in a range of areas including health innovation, healthcare and population health improvement, clinical engagement and learning health systems.

Dominique’s qualifications include an MBA from Henley Business School, an MPH from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, and an MBBS from King’s College London. She is a Fellow of the Faculty of Public Health, Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer at Imperial College, Associate Editor of BMJ Leader and a previous Darzi Fellow in Clinical Leadership. She has also held Board roles in NHS and non-profit organisations.

Dominique said:

“I am delighted to be given the opportunity to lead ICHP at this crucial moment for our NHS and wider health and care sector in the UK. As the innovation partner for North West London, ICHP is working closely with our Integrated Care Board, NHS providers, local authorities, and universities to deliver some fantastic impact through the NWL Missions for Research and Innovation – tackling some of our biggest health challenges both locally and nationally.”

ICHP Chair Professor Sir Mark Walport said:

“Dr Dominique Allwood brings extensive experience from a wide-ranging career in healthcare, working across provider and commissioning organisations, academic institutions, national bodies, management consultancy, and think tanks. The ICHP Board and I are confident that she will be a skilled and inspiring leader for our ICHP and Discover-NOW Teams as the organisation enters this next chapter.”
