Elisa Allen

Senior Data Scientist

Biography

Elisa joined Imperial College Health Partners (ICHP) in April 2025 as a Senior Data Scientist in the Real-World Evidence delivery team.

Elisa is a Medical Statistician by background, with a MSc in Mathematics and a PhD in Statistics from the University of Bath, and with over 10 years’ experience in healthcare data research as well as in delivering analytical solutions to address operational needs. Prior to joining ICHP, Elisa was a Principal Statistician at NHS Blood and Transplant (NHSBT), where she delivered a multi-year project that developed and introduced in the UK the algorithm that prioritises patients on the waiting list for a liver transplant; an algorithm that has proven to reduce mortality of patients on the waiting list relative to previously-used prioritisation approaches.  Also while at NHSBT, she collaborated with multiple organ transplant, stem cell transplant and blood transfusion clinicians to design, execute and implement analytical innovations to save and improve patients’ lives; both in controlled experiment and observational settings.

Elisa’s focus is on the efficient and principled translation of client need into analytical solutions for decision making; involving all aspects of a solution’s lifecycle – from proposal/funding to the development of protocols, analysis plans and operational implementation.
