Biography

Joana is passionate about improving health outcomes through research and innovation. She has over 6 years of professional experience in Healthcare and Life Sciences across academia, charity and private sector. Before joining ICHP, Joana worked in the Strategy team at Cancer Research UK. There, she worked closely with the Executive Board delivering critical projects for the charity – from delivering a new measurement and reporting system to track CRUK’s progress against their strategic objectives to developing a new Information Strategy to best serve cancer patients and the public.

 

As a Strategy consultant at L.E.K. Consulting, Joana delivered projects to Life Sciences and Healthcare clients including multinational pharma, biotech and private equity firms. She also worked on pro-bono consulting projects like developing a market entry strategy for a social enterprise with a digital product to help teenagers’ anxiety, or helping a charity review the evidence base on early interventions tackling substance abuse and obesity.

 

Joana holds an MSc in Biomedicine from Karolinska Institute in Sweden and a PhD in Stem Cell Biology from the University of Cambridge. She is also studying part-time towards a Master’s in Public Health with the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.
