Gill Francis

Innovation Advisor


Gill has a clinical background in nursing and holds a first-class BSc(Hons) in Community Health and an MSc in Public Health & Health promotion. She has a broad range of experience, both as a District Nurse and Community Matron in adult community health services, and within 0-19 services, working with first-time young parents, and with the Traveller, Gypsy and Roma community, where she worked on projects addressing health literacy and the uptake of services, particularly maternity care, and in the development and delivery of cultural competence training for staff from health, social care and education backgrounds.

Along side her substantive role, Gill was seconded to the Family Nurse Partnership National Unit, PHE for eight years, supporting the development and delivery of communication skills and MI training.

Gill is passionate about working  collaboratively with services and clients in finding creative ways to address health inequalities in a meaningful way.
