Dr Tracey Batten is chief executive at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust and joined the Trust on 7 April 2014. With a distinguished career as a clinical leader, Tracey has over 20 years’ experience of working in healthcare and leading large, complex organisations.
Tracey was formerly chief executive of St Vincent’s Health, Australia’s largest charitable hospital group. Tracey has held chief executive positions at Dental Health Services in the Australian state of Victoria, and at Eastern Health, leading a group of public hospitals in Melbourne. Tracey qualified as a doctor at the University of Melbourne.
She holds a Masters in Health Administration from the University of New South Wales and a MBA from Harvard. Tracey worked in the NHS in the early 1990s as a senior house officer and registrar at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.
With extensive experience gained in senior-level positions in complex healthcare organisations, Tracey has a solid track record of delivering organisational change. The combination of her executive and clinical leadership skills, clinical background and knowledge of diverse public health systems, means Tracey is ideally placed to lead the Trust through a process of transformation. This includes rising to the challenges of achieving Foundation Trust status, delivering the long-term strategy for our sites and services, and embracing new, innovative models of delivering care.
Tracey brings fresh insight and perspective to her role at the Trust thanks to her in-depth knowledge of the Australian public health system. She is deeply committed to ensuring Imperial College Healthcare provides the absolute best clinical outcomes for patients and that patient experience remains at the heart of everything we do.
